Met in court: Johnny Depp and Amber Heard entered into a lawsuit for $ 100 million

Depp’s fans are sure that the actor is the victim of a fake intrigue

Yesterday in the American city of Fairfax, a libel trial began in which Johnny Depp accused his ex-wife Amber Heard with a demand for compensation of $ 50 million. At the same time, his ex-wife wants to satisfy a counterclaim for $100 million – and this complex process, accompanied by mutual claims, has been going on for three years.

The former spouses began official proceedings after the publication of an article by Amber Heard in the Washington Post in 2018. She called herself a “victim of domestic violence,” accusing the ex-spouse of abuse. Depp and his lawyers were quick to sue, arguing that Heard’s reputation-damaging attacks caused him to be expelled from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and lose significant royalties. In addition, the actor claims that his ex is the instigator of all the scandals that have ruined their relationship.

Both Johnny and Amber appeared in court, arriving in secrecy as Judge Penny Azkarat ordered aides to keep the trial from turning into a media circus. The judge also issued an order forbidding either side from signing autographs or interacting with fans. However, several reporters admitted to the building managed to take pictures: Depp, 58, in a gray suit, and Amber, 35, in a striped three-piece and white blouse.

The judge began the meeting by asking the jury about what they knew about the dynamics of the relationship between the heroes of the process. Reviews from the jurors were mixed, with one juror reading a hilarious message his wife had sent him to fill him in: “Amber is a psychopath; Johnny has been set up.”

This message caused a roar of approval from Depp’s fans, who arrived at the hearing a few hours before the start of the trial to take their seats in a crowded hall. Fans of the movie star began to gather outside the building at five in the morning; most of them came with posters to express their support for their favorite actor.
The trial is expected to continue for a couple more months, with celebrities set to testify, including James Franco, Paul Bettany, and Ellen Barkin.
