Johnny Depp Wouldn’t Return to ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ for $300 Million

Speaking with lawyers during the trial with his ex-wife Amber Heard , Hollywood actor Johnny Depp said that he never intends to return to the role of Jack Sparrow in the future.

The lengthy legal battle between   Johnny Depp and Amber Heard is expected to provide food for film reporters. And few people expected that the bits of information taken out of the courtroom would please the fans of the actor. This is confirmed by Depp’s fresh remark regarding his famous role in the Disney franchise Pirates of the Caribbean.

During the next court session, Depp recalled that the studio threw him out of the sixth part of “Pirates” just a few days after the publication of an open letter from Heard, who accused her ex-husband of violence. By that time, the actor said, Disney, due to various rumors about the difficulties in his family life and the growing #MeToo movement, already doubted their desire to continue cooperation with him, and the publication gave them an extremely convenient opportunity to close the issue of his participation in the next movie series.

And even though Depp loves his character very much, he will never return to the role, even if – imagine such a fabulous scenario – he is cordially asked about it.

As proof,  Variety  published a fragment of a dialogue between Heard’s lawyer Ben Rottenborn and Depp.

So if Disney offered you $300 million, you would never agree to work with the studio again on Pirates of the Caribbean? This is true?

“That’s right, Mr. Rottenborn.

However, no one imagined that after all that had happened, the audience would someday expect the triumphant return of the famous adventurer and rum lover to the screens. Meanwhile, Disney is preparing a reboot/rethinking of the pirate series with blackjack and captains.
