American actor and director Sean Penn and his charity CORE will provide assistance to Ukrainian refugees in Poland. Sean Penn signed an agreement with the mayor of Krakow to help the Polish city cope with the ongoing influx of refugees from Ukraine.
The actor praised the Polish people, government, and local authorities for their hospitality to the more than two million refugees from Ukraine who crossed the border into Poland after the Russian invasion.
But he added that “this is a crisis that no government can handle on its own. In view of the global crisis, the private and public sectors must work together.”

Charity organizationSean Penn CORE will help Ukrainian refugees arriving in Poland. The actor signed an agreement on assistance with Krakow Mayor Jacek Majchrowski. According to the agreement, CORE, which Penn and Ann Lee founded to assist Haiti after the 2010 earthquake, will provide organizational and material support to Krakow. She will also use her experience in previous humanitarian crises to advise authorities on their response. The organization has already raised money in the United States to help Ukrainians and provides support in Poland and Romania, where more than half a million refugees have arrived.
It is worth noting that the actor flew to Kyiv on the eve of the Russian invasion on February 23, 2022. He found the first days of the war in Ukraine and was forced to evacuate through a pedestrian crossing to Poland. In recent months, Sean Penn has been filming a documentary about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in Ukraine, the first phase of which began in 2014.
Recall that a lot of world-famous stars condemned Russian aggression and supported Ukraine. For example, Madonna, Jared Leto, Jennifer Lopez, David and Victoria Beckham, Lady Gaga, Cristiano Ronaldo, and others.
